Assessment is a vital component of any training, including the training of faculty to teach online. What are some resources on your campus to assist with this assessment process?
Howdy! While investigating this topic, I found two great resources that I wanted to share:
1) This extensive page of resources for Evaluating Professional Development from Vanderbilt’s Peabody College. There are excellent handouts with checklists, guides, and steps. https://iris.peabody.vanderbilt.edu/module/fid/cresource/q2/p06/fid_06_link_tools_00/
2) Another great page by the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD) which highlights the importance of Evaluating Professional Development: http://www.ascd.org/publications/educational-leadership/mar02/vol59/num06/Does-It-Make-a-Difference%C2%A2-Evaluating-Professional-Development.aspx
Just in case anyone was interested. 😉
Greetings!
Our office of Professional Development Office at the College of Central Florida sends a survey after workshops to make sure we are meeting and satisfy our faculty members’ needs. They use SurveyMonkey to keep track of the responses and they send us the feedback after. The questions evaluate both the presenter and the topic. It also asks for suggestions and comments towards the end of the survey.
