    Abstract:
Students from diverse cultures often find themselves at a disadvantage in the U.S. school setting. The culture and language barrier create more difficulties for these students to maintain high academic performance. These difficulties exist with the online learning environment as well. However, a number of research have demonstrated that with the appropriate teaching tools and techniques, these diverse students can achieve academic success. This workshop focuses on helping online instructors developing online courses that are more culturally sensitive to diverse students. Session Objectives:
    • Identify the concurrent instructional design strategies for culturally diverse students in online course
    • Explain the reasons for applying the strategies in successful online course design
    • Apply these strategies in different course content scenarios
