Jacob Bates replied to the topic Role of publisher content in course design in the forum [{{{site.name}}}] New friendship request from {{initiator.name}} 8 years ago
We typically discourage publisher content due to the high level of technical and ADA glitches we experience. Where publisher content is used, we encourage some additional interaction in the LMS to better engage students.

I found this article from the STEPS Centre about photovoice that’s pretty interesting. Just another resource that demonstrates the power of that method: http://steps-centre.org/methods/pathways-methods/vignettes/photovoice/

I am looking to update my syllabus accessibility statement. UCF’s Faculty Center for Teaching and Learning (FCTL) provides a sample statement (http://fctl.ucf.edu/TeachingAndLearningResources/CourseDesign/Syllabus/statements.php) but it feels informal to me and doesn’t match the tone of my syllabus. I’d love to hear how other faculty or i…[Read more]

I think generally linking to YouTubes is fine. Of course, the real problem comes when folks upload to YouTube stuff that isn’t theirs to upload.

Is anybody aware of copyright issues related to embedding YouTube videos in courses?
For example, I wanted to post this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E12H1NUDkT0
